The Lovers Gonna Love Socks are here to celebrate the world’s most wonderful feeling – in all its colourful variety! With many sizes included, even for tiny feet, they are a perfect gift for any loved one. Including yourself, whenever you want to gift yourself some calm hours of knitting and, after your socks are finished, a pair of warm feet.
These mood-lifting socks combine traditional stranded colourwork with a “twist” – that is, knitting into stitches several rounds below. They are worked toe-up, starting with Judy’s Magic Cast-on. For the foot, you are working the heart pattern only on the instep, but you will expand it over the whole leg after the heel flap and gusset. The pattern includes instructions for an optional slip stitch heel to increase the durability of the fabric and enhance the fit. You will finish your socks with a cuff in half-twisted rib, including the option of a contrast-colour edge that will look extra neat if you work the recommended modified Italian bind-off. Either pick one contrast colour for the heart pattern or change colours every pattern round – these socks offer an ideal opportunity to showcase even the tiniest yarn scraps!
